RCCR Demonstrates Model Aircraft and Cultivates New Modelers!

Over the past few years, the Radio Control Club of Rochester (RCCR) has been an exhibitor at Brighton High School's "Festival of Ideas." The annual event is an educational and fun day for over 700 students in grades 3 through 8 who participate in workshops led by members of the community.

Club members demonstrated fun and excitement at the festival with all types of aircraft, including rubber band powered AMA Delta Darts and Guillow's Sky Streaks. R/C planes and drones were flown, including a drone with First-Person View (FPV). Each student also tried their hand at flying using one of the multiple simulators. After each session, the students were excited to get an easy to assemble glider.

RCCR club member Jerry Joseph is a driving force behind organizing the clubs attendance at the event. On Saturday, March 3, 2018, club members ( Richard Brook, Richard Gielow, David Hoffmann, Jerry Joseph, Mike Mance, Bob and Jude Phillips, Mike Rotherforth, Warren Sauer) supported the Remote Control Airplanes workshop.

See this link for news coverage of the festival and the clubs involvement. Congratulations to RCCR members for a job well done!
