AMA loses a great volunteer
ALLEGANY, NY - On Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2017 the model aircraft community lost James F. (Jim) Goodemote, a dedicated AMA volunteer and friend to many.
In addition to being an AMA AVP, Contest Director, and a Leader Member, Jim served as the AMA District II (2) RC Contest Coordinator from 2008 - 2015. He was a member of the Southern Tier Aero Radio Society (STARS) for over 25 years. Known for his detailing and precision as a machinist, Jim received the STARS Innovator of the Year Award in 2009.
Jim was a man of many talents. He was a woodworker, furniture builder, and graphic designer, but what he most enjoyed as a hobby was flying scale remote control model airplanes. Along with his wife, Linda, Jim owned and operated the former Heritage Inn in Olean, NY. He later worked for OSM Corp. and retired from Keystone Tool & Die, Co. Jim will be greatly missed!
