Balsa Products founder, Stanley Robert "Bob" Peru Passes
AMA member and Balsa Products founder Bob Peru passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2014. Bob was well known for establishing Balsa Products LLC in 1989. With over fifty years of experience in retail and hobby supply distribution, including the Hobby Masters and Champion model lines, Bob was self-employed in the wholesale and retail aspects of the model airplane business for most of his life. Bob was an accomplished model designer, competitor, and kit manufacturer, including the limited production Balsa Products Tiger Moth. His love for aviation took him to the full scale world as well. He was a pilot, aircraft owner, ground school instructor, safety inspector, and Captain for Monmouth Airlines.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name can be made to the AMA Scholarship Fund of the Academy of Model Aeronautics 5161 E. Memorial Dr., Muncie, IN 47302.
